Watsons is my ultimate place to be if I want superbly affordable skin care products. The first time I got hooked into doing makeup, I bought my local branded makeup at Watsons. Yes, they come cheap but because they are at Watsons so you need not to worry about damaging your skin especially your face.

At my last visit at Watsons, I got myself the Watson Moisturizing Lip Balm in Sweet Strawberry. Honestly, it’s quite hard to find a colorless lip balm (unless it’s Chap Stick) these days because people would want to save up on lipstick so they combined it all in one.

The Good Bits:

It may not have been completely colorless; but it did give my lips a natural pink smoothness which is a really good thing. It still blends well with any lipstick shade I wear plus it smells great. It also comes in a cool chic and pocket size container which makes it easy to bring anywhere and it did prevent my lips from getting dried up by the lipsticks I used. The price, you ask? It’s just PHP 49.00. Are you still complaining? LOL

The Bad Bits:

I actually have no problem with this product. Maybe just only the fact that I hope it did come with a little lip balm brush so I won’t have to dab my little fat pinky finger on it. Haha!

Over-All:

It contains 10g of balm goodness plus it’s cheap and will totally do the job as a moisturizing lip balm. I will be giving it a 9/10. Now who said that you can’t get great deals for lesser costs? ;)

MAC Cosmetics has been one of the most popular and sought after brands as of today. It is, however, quite pricey. That is perhaps, one of the reasons why a lot of MAC replicas have been coming out.

Anyway, the MAC Satin Lipsticks are perhaps the most popular of their line of lipstick because of the many shades it offers. It is said to provide high color payoff and a semi-matte finish. It is in a bullet shaped case which pretty much says it is original. The MAC Satin Lipstick I have is in Mocha shade. Usually I don’t use these kinds of shades but this is an exception.

So, what have I got to say about the Mocha Satin?

The Good Bits:

For a mocha shade, I loved how it looks perfectly beautiful on my lips. Usually, shades like this, makes me look more mature which is the opposite of what I love; but this mocha version just blends well with any makeup I wear and it just makes my lips look thinner. I don’t know if it would work that way with other people but that’s what I noticed in mine.

Honest to its claim, it does show off a matte finish and it doesn’t look too waxy nor feel like it. I love how it looked and felt on my lips.

The Bad Bits:

I though since it is MAC it will last longer. It didn’t last longer than what I’ve expected. Give it up to 4-6 hours max then it’ll soon fade out. My EnCara BB Cream lasted longer than this.

Over-All:

I love the look, I love the feel and I am giving it a 9/10. This is the lipstick and the shade great for all ages and for all occasions. It won’t make you feel uncomfortably waxy at all.

So, I have decided to finally put up a make-up tutorial since some people have asked me how I put my make-up on and stuffs. This is my first ever tutorial so bear with me people!
Picture
Before anything else, apply your favorite foundation. In this tutorial, there is no need for me to use moisturizers and stuffs since I am using my loved ENCARA BB CREAM.
Picture
When choosing a lip balm, as much as possible, use the untinted ones. You don't want a bad blending with your lipstick. In this one, I used WATSONS MOISTURIZING LIP BALM in SWEET STRAWBERRY
Picture
I used a NYX JUMBO EYE SHADOW PENCIL (MILK) as a base for my eyes. Apply on your lids, below the eyes and below your brows then blend them using your ring finger (this is the weakest finger therefore, using this won't put too much pressure on your eyes)
Picture
The eyeshadow I used is the DENIM FROST shade from MARY KAY'S MINERAL EYE COLOR QUAD. Just apply it half way through your lid and smudge/blend it using your ring finger as well
Picture
I used a purple eyeliner for my waterline and black liner for my brows. I forgot the brand for these liners since I bought them at a stall in Robinson's Manila selling affordable asian cosmetics. I think I got them for only PHP 50.00/each :D
Picture
Apply the blush upwards so to lift up your cheek bone. I used an EVER BILENA TANGERINE shade. I don't like using overly pinkish blush as it does not match my "morena" skin tone.
Picture
Use an eyelash curler and keep it pressed for like 10-15 sec or at least that is what I do. I used a WATSONS EYELASH CURLER. My WATSONS ELECTRONIC EYELASH CURLER doesn't have batt as of the moment so this would do :)
Picture
Apply mascara on your upper lashes and lower lashes. I used a LANCOME HIGH DEFINITION MASCARA here. It's currently my favorite mascara as it creates a lengthening effect on my lashes and I have naturally short lashes. *thumbs up for imperfections* :D
Picture
Apply lipstick on the upper and lower lip. As much as possible, avoid smacking them together so that the shade would be equally distributed to your lips. I used a MAC SATIN LIPSTICK (MOCHA) here
Picture
Top it all off with a pressed powder using a face brush to create a matte finish. I used a JOHNSON AND JOHNSON'S PRESSED POWDER and ELF TOTAL FACE BRUSH.
So, that is how I apply make up for my daily look. I hope you all enjoyed m first ever tutorial and next time, I would be using a video camera or at least I will try. Thanks for checking this out and leave comments if you have questions or share this on Twitter and Facebook if you loved it. Finished look is below:

NYX is one of my favourite cosmetics brand. It’s one of the good ones but also comes affordable. As of the moment, I am using the NYX Lip Smacking Lipstick in Fig or better known as the Round Lipstick.

What have I got to say about it?

What I Loved:

The Lip Smacking lipstick or more popularly known as the round lipstick is the most affordable lipstick of NYX. I loved how the Fig shade perfectly pushed my lips to pout by itself and I just adore the noticeable pink that it shows off. I can wear it anytime and in any occasion. It doesn’t make me look old, it makes my lips become noticeably pouty and pretty and did I already say it is budget- friendly?

What I Didn’t So Much Love:

It can easily be wiped out that is why I had to re-apply it again after a like 6 hours; other than that, great shade and great lipstick.

OVER-ALL

I love the NYX Round Lipstick in Fig. It perfectly blended with my skin tone and I love having noticeable lips. Though I may have a problem with its lasting effect, I so totally love it still and I will be trying their other shades soon. I would be giving it a rate of 7/10. A decent lipstick shade and brand for young girls who wants to have noticeably pretty lips at an affordable price.

Have you been having problems about dry feet? When you wear your favourite flip flops and your foot scratches on something, does it always leave this thin white scratch mark? Well, worry no more! Watsons now has their very own Cooling Foot Cream. The Watsons Cooling Foot Cream is peppermint scented and is claiming to effectively moisturize your feet. It is said to be enriched with Menthol and Matricaria Recutita exctract which are responsible for its gentle and cooling formulation leaving your skin smooth and with a pleasant peppermint scent.

I, personally, have had dry feet problems so when I spotted this product, I just couldn’t resist myself. I grabbed it from the shelf and after picking up a few more stuffs, paid it to the cashier with a satisfied grin on my face.

The Ultimate Test

Will this new Watsons product withstand my 2 hour commute via jeepney, LRT and a long walk to Taft? I had to try before I write this. So the day after I bought this, I immediately tried it on my feet. It was quite hard to squeeze out. I have no idea if that’s how it’s supposed to be or whatever but I didn’t like that fact. I had to squeeze it tight just to get the cream out of the tube. After the squeezing moment, I applied it on my foot and I felt this cool sensation on my skin. I fell in love with the sensation and with the peppermint smell fit for my feet.

So, there I was, doing my morning commute and when I arrived to the office, I scratched my feet and NO WHITE MARKS! After 8 hours of working, and another 2 hours for my commute, I scratched my foot at home and still NO MARKS. I was amazed. Usually, I had to re-apply lotion just so I could achieve this moisturized feel; but now, Watsons Cooling Foot Cream saved me from re-applying lotion over and over and over again.

OVER-ALL

The Watsons Cooling Foot Cream saved me time and money from re-applying lotion over and over again. For a PHP 99.00 and 150ml it sure is worth it. The only problem I’m having with this is that it is hard to squeeze off its tube; aside from that, great product. I will be giving it an 8/10.

BB CREAM -- Asians are crazy about it! The BB Cream is said to be originating from Korea. It claims itself as an all-in-one product which is a moisturizer, a sun block, a foundation and a concealer.

Today, I had my first encounter with the EnCara BB Cream. What have I got to say?

PRO’s:

True to its claim; the EnCara BB Cream lightened up my skin; thus giving me a fresh looking whiter facial skin complexion.

Worked as a moisturizer, yes it did. It is not warm on the skin as well so even if the temperature here in our humble country is in its very peak, no worry ladies! The BB cream won’t warm up your skin. It really does also works as a sun block.

Though it only has one shade, it somehow manages to blend up with your natural complexion making it look like you really are naturally that whiter. Amazing, huh?

It also has claims that it is long-lasting. Yes it is. I sweated, had my afternoon siesta and did a lot of things, and it is still there, flaunting its fairer colour on my skin. I don’t know how but it also kind of worked as a primer to me because it made my make-up last longer than usual as well.

As a cover-up or concealer, yes it does that as well. There is this pimple scar I had on my forehead and it totally did cover it up.

CON’s:

The BB Cream is quite pricey compared to regular liquid foundations; but I say, if you want an all-in-one cream which will give you flawless results you need not to complain about its price.

There have also been a lot of BB Creams coming up in the market. Some people might be confused as to what would be good for their skin and I am thinking that there might be fake BB creams out there, as well. This can’t be far from reality.

OVER-ALL:

I will give the BB Cream a whooping 10/10 because it really satisfies my needs for an all-in-one cream. My only tip for all those who want to try BB Cream is to, first, do your research. Search the internet as to what BB Creams do most people and bloggers use. How have they rated it? Check its ingredients. Are you allergic to one of them? Or try it on other parts of your skin before on the face to see if you’d have allergic reactions. Ask your trusted dermatologist if you are still unsure. It is better to be safe than be sorry later.

Be very careful when choosing products to apply on your skin, especially on your face. I’m pretty sure you don’t want your face covered in rashes and all messed up.
